What are Professional Development classes?

Professional Development classes are designed to take your career performance on the next level. In the 21st century, living at a distance from an English speaking country does not protect professionals from the language. Many, if not most, organizations require that their team members communicate effectively in English! Clients and customers are found everywhere and they often share English as a common language. To build up your comfort and confidence, we will use material from your current position -- documents, emails, presentations, etc -- as the foundation of our class. 

These classes are also for anyone looking for a job. The application process for positions in the United States is an art -- not a science. Why is it an art? Because it changes constantly. American corporate culture and laws are always reacting to current events, while the HR recruiting tools that organizations use to select a candidate are also responding to industry trends. 

Professional Development classes prepare students for the many steps of this complex process. You'll learn how to better represent yourself to potential employers by incorporating key artistic aspects of American business culture

We can work on making effective job searches, writing or revising application materials (such as CVs, resumes, and cover letters), and practicing job interviews or presentations.
